Anyone?
Grime DJ Logan Sama has had shows on BBC Radio 1xtra, Kiss FM and played at nightclubs and festivals all over the world but his second love is less well known.
The Essex boy is a lifelong West Ham fan with firm views on football and the current crop of players performing so well for the Hammers in the Premier League.
Turnstyle caught up with him to find out his all-time favourite West Ham player and who he would love to see the club sign given the chance.
Why do you support West Ham and how did you begin following them?
My family has always supported West Ham since I can remember. Both my grandfathers did, my dad and uncle do. So I do. It’s legacy. I am a firm believer in the idea that you can only choose to support the team your parents support or your local team. None of this glory hunting.
How often do you get to Upton Park or games in general?
I have been a Bond Holder at the Boleyn for around 12 years now I think. My Dad got us all Bonds. We had our names on our season ticket seats in the East Stand Upper. I used to go to every home game, even in the Championship I would go every week. We used to go as a family. Me, my dad, my uncle, my grandfathers. I really enjoyed it. None of them are around anymore so I dont really go so often. I enjoyed the trip out with the family more than the games to be honest but I have been a couple of times this season. The football is good which is a nice change from recent years.
West Ham WEST HAM. (PIC: GETTY) What is the best West Ham game you have seen?
I was so impressed with our 3-1 win over Liverpool this season. I know Liverpool have had a poor season so far but our performance was excellent. Definitely one of the best footballing performances I’ve seen. And in terms of memorable it would either have to be one of the two play-off finals we won, the time we drew with Manchester United at Upton Park to stop them from winning the Premier League in 95, or the FA Cup Final which we lost on penalties to Liverpool in 2006 the year after they won the Champions League. I was at all of these games and they stand out in my memory.
If you could change anything about the club what would it be?
I’m happy with the club as it is right now. It seems to be going in the right direction. Good signings, good investment, a desire to retain our best players, play good football and grow the supporter base with the move to Stratford.
Who has been West Ham’s stand out player so far this season?
This season has been a revelation. Players like Winston Reid, James Tomkins, Andy Carroll and Stewart Downing have impressed from last year’s squad. But our new singings like Aaron Cresswell, Carl Jenkinson, Cheikhou Kouyate, Enner Valencia, Morgan Amalfitano and of course Alex Song have revolutionised the football we are playing. Its basically an entirely new starting XI bar a handful of players. But for me, the stand out star this season has been Diafra Sakho. He’s a goal machine!
Diafra Sakho, West Ham United DIAFRA SAKHO. (PIC: GETTY) Which single player would you sign in January given the opportunity?
I would like to see us sign some defensive cover at centre back in January. Someone good enough to push for a starting place. We may lose Winston Reid as he is liked by a number of bigger clubs and is coming to the end of his contract so it will be tough to keep him. I would love if we just signed one more defender and re-signed Winston to a new contract. I’d be happy with that to be honest.
Are there any young players coming through that particularly excite you?
In terms of young players, Diego Poyet is a tremendously gifted young player. I would like to see him come on off the bench a bit more. Hopefully he can get more of a look in with the cup competitions.
Diego Poyet, West Ham United DIEGO POYET. (PIC: GETTY) Who is your all-time favourite player and why?
My all time favourite West Ham player has to be Julian Dicks. He embodied the spirit of the club. And he was also an absolute gent when I met him as well at a West Ham event. Really nice bloke.
Have you ever hung out with any footballers and are many of them into grime?
I cant say I have ever hung out with footballers. I do wonder how much Grime they listen to. It was incredible to see Bradley Wright-Phillips and Yannick Bolasie have a Grime clash on Lord Of The Mics DVD this year though!
